长大后，发现世界，真的不一样.

How many times have I told myself that all that don't matter? What made me so confident that my heart was perfectly well conditioned and guarded against even the worst form of scenarios?

Many nights I found myself lying on my bed trying to figure out what people are thinking; why they would act in a certain way... And if they do things that are undesirable to me, what would I do and react to prevent my heart from breaking. In my mind I've formulated thousand and one kinds of worst case scenarios that could ever happen to me in any aspects of my life. I thought I was ready and strong enough.

Yet when I saw all that, my heart completely sank. Completely.


And it only goes to show how much it matters to me.

Who am I trying to kid? I take words in too easily. I'm weak and I just break down in front of anyone who asks about my struggle. And once that happens, I just foolishly take it that that person really cares.

Talk about being just all curious or, put it in a uglier manner, nosy.

Honesty, I expected a lot more from you. But I guess all those were just written in a moment of folly.

Sweet 17th.

Ok I don't know how to start off with this post. Haha, proves how much I don't know how to start off with all my compositions. Hehe.

The title should be clear enough to show what I'm going to blog about. If you still don't know what's the purpose about this post I'm typing, you can go and commit suicide like instantly. Ok joking not funny.

Alright so, my birthday this year was A BLAST! (6 January 2012) It was the most awesome day of my life although some of my friends disappointed me because they confessed to me one day after that they forgotten. Haha but well, why harp on the unhappy stuffs? All the blessings, surprises and presents I've received on my birthday is way more than what I've expected (Actually I wasn't expecting anything, really. Till the extent that I purposely worked on my own birthday, wahaha).

My birthday falls on the start of the year and most people would tend to forget when your birthday is. This year proved my own mindset wrong, and for the first time in my life, I feel so loved by so many people around me.

Without anymore dragging (Am afraid that I'd be late meeting Chuxuan later), let's start off with all the celebrations that I've received on my own birthday! (Advanced/ Actual Date/ Belated)

5 January 2012 (Thursday):
Had lifegroup on that day. Before lifegroup, my own shepherd Eva was asking me about how I was feeling about my own birthday.

To be honest I was really quite down before my own birthday. Because all the stillness and everyday just made me don't want to spend my birthday SO MUCH. I've got this instinct that almost everyone forgot my birthday (which was quite true) and I wasn't anticipating my birthday AT ALL.

Lifegroup games was postponed till the end, and the dumb me wasn't expecting anything at all. It was a game of treasurehunt, with Eva and Pauline being the gamemasters. What they hid was their present to me. Apparently, they sent everyone in the lifegroup the exact answer to where the present was hidden and sent me a message that says, "Somewhere that we can sit." Haha!

Well when we were called to start the game, I ran out of the pondok that I was in (Lifegroup's held at Chua Chu Kang Park by the way) and ran to the nearest bench I can find. Seeing something under the bench I targeted in sight, I thought I've warned the game until I drew nearer and saw "Happy Birthday Yuhui" written on top of a shiny green box.

I totally didn't seen it coming AT ALL. Turning around, they covered my eyes while they tried to prepare the cake. When they released a green pandan cake, with a self-singing pink candle, was right in front of me. Together with the self singing candle, they sang a birthday song for me together and forced me to open up my birthday box. They told me to stand on the bench and open it, and my natural thought was, "OI WILL SOMETHING JUMP OR NOT?!" Hahaha. Eventually I still opened it and it was a ...


TADA! Awesome yo.

Special thanks to Eva Soh and Pauline for putting in so much effort in making such a nice yet tedious-to-make shiny box which is covered with the colour I love, and the others (Waihan, Honeng, Jessica, Bowen, Zhihuai, Kelver) for making the celebration such a wonderful one! Thanks to Jessica who brought all of us Ferrero Rocher too! (& dumping the unfinished one into the shiny green box box, hehe)

Went home after celebration and ate my mum's traditional meesua and two pink eggs. Awesome!

Bathed and rotted right in front of my desktop, and soon, it was...

6 January 2012:
When the clock striked 0000, Zhengkai phoned me and went, "Hi Poon~ Happy Brithday~" with that super high pitch guniang voice which I can't stand. Hehe but am super touched because he's the first to phone me specially just to wish me a happy birthday! No one has done that over the past few years, and I was over the moon~ (Haha being drama here). Thank you Big Bro! Had a short conversation and Eva interrupted the call. Ended the call with Zhengkai and picked up the phone call from Eva.

Eva: "Eh hi, Happy Birthday!"
Yuhui: "Thank you!" *Hears door closing from the lift* "Eh you just reach home ah, so late already!"
Eva: "Ya lor, super tired sia, going to reach home soon! Aiya, happy birthday ok! Hehehe byebye!"
Yuhui: "Bye!"

Well, one minute later, she knocked on my door with a birthday cake on her hands. Hahaha.
Super touched by this shepherd of mine! ^^ Hehe hope you are reading this and feeling happy inside because your sheep loves you a lot hahaha!











After the mini celebration, Eva left and I continued to rot in front of my desktop. Began to felt sleepy only at 2 and slept after that.

The next morning ....
I was being shocked out of my bed by two horrible monsters: Liyee Chia and Pamela Loh.
Okay so apparently they tack team with my brother and before my brother left for school, he left the house gate open and 4 of my girls (Weiyi and Lynnquek was around as well) intruded into my house.

From what I've heard, Pamela woke up at 5.20am and began to morning call the other 3 girls. They met at some holy time and got some Macdonald breakfast meal takeaways. Being the birthday girl, they bought this keesiaoingly hjuge meal called the Deluxe meal.

they reached my house at probably 7 (?) and got all the stuffs ready. Pamela was in charge of finding me and at 7.00am in the morning, she thought I was awake and searched EVERY corner of the house (Even the toilets) except for my bedroom. Haha, the syndrome you get when you wake up at 5.20am? Liyee come to her rescue and yes, "unexpectedly" I was on my bed, sleeping soundly and drooling in my dreams.

Pamela took the first move and kicked me hard in my butt to wake up me. Then, they jumped on me and shouted "Happy Birthday!" and for an instant, I really thought that I was going to be kipnapped or something and I literally screamed and woke my father up. I mean, which person wouldn't be scared when you wake up and the first thing you see is shadows like this:

Haha, but the surprise was dead awesome!!!!!!!!!! Love you girls okay, thanks for putting in so much effort to give me such a memorable birthday hehe. Really appreciate you girls! ^^

Pamela and Liyee dragged me out of bed (I was still feeling super nua) and blindfolded me as they pulled me out to the dining table. I still felt super sticky and my breath still stinks, by the way.They make me sit down and when Pamela released her hands, I saw:

I was really touched although it's really funny to see the candle on top of a panCAKE but well, it's the thought that counts! I am super touched when I saw Weiyi Chia and Lynnquek right beside me!

Thanks girls for waking up so early for me! :) Hehehe.














The girls stayed at my house until 9 and I had to head off to work. Was still feeling rather excited and as a result, I spilled sweet sauce at my work place and broke like 4 bottles. The place was in a mess and I had a really horrible time trying to clear up the mess (without a mop).

Well, thank God my manager didn't scold me or anything. Chiahsuan told Amy that I was my birthday and when I'm prepared to knock off, Chiahsuan pulled me into the back kitchen and I surprised again by an Oreo Cheesecake! It's even more surprising when Chiahsuan told me that it's Amy who initiated the surprise and chose and bought the cake.

I truly felt really blessed because I think that my work attitude hasn't been really awesome; yet my manager still loves (hehe) me so much to give me a surprise. Hahaha.









As I gobbled down the delicious Oreo Cheesecake, I packed my stuffs really quickly because I'm going back to school to watch NPCC's fancy drill performance. While I was packing, I saw this hidden in between the stuffs in my bag!



Yes it's given to me by Koh Chia Hsuan who purposely hid the wallet in my bag while I was working. Super grateful to you ok muaxxx hahaha!

I rushed back to Unity Sec and Tian got me a wooden board with my name and a birthday message on it.

Watched fancy drill and went for a dinner with Shireen and Guoyao, with them treating me to dinner.

Later on at night, U08 peeps surprised me with a cake up at my doorstep! Felt so blessed by these people. Thanks Clare, Haikal, Afiq and Wenwei! You guys are the best :)))

Halfway through chatting, Bowen and Zhihuai came to my doorstep and delivered me 2 cakes. Which is totally awwwwwww cause guys hardly do such things right. Hahahaha thanks guys. :):)

Chia hsuan, Chuxuan, ShiHeng, Lynn and Janice celebrated on the 30th Jan. belated but that's out style yo! Love you girls!


Sorry for the lack of pictures at the end cause I got lazy. But whatever, my 17th birthday went like this and man, I felt awfully blessed. It was the best day of my life. And I would never ever forget this day, how people who have been introduced into my life for the past 4 years managed to remember and made me feel special.

Time pass, people change. But this post, shall remind me of how memories doesn't change. let me be able to recall this day vividly even after reading this 10 years down the road. Thanks for everything guys, you all mean the world to me.

Farewell awesome 2011, Welcome uncertain 2012.

It's currently 2309 hours. In just another 51 minutes time, we are all entering into a new year, 2012.

Reflecting, 2011 has been a really really REALLY rough year for me. No kidding. I experienced mental torment, emotional turmoil and my physical health had to pay a price as well. Well, first there's this annoying obstacle to tackle: O levels. Was practically living in hell everyday until the last paper on 151111. I'm really grateful towards my friends' existence in my life; they were the ones who really pulled me through the hellish periods with their simple texts and really funny jokes!

Even with the bad sides, 2011 has been a fruitful year too! (Or should I say, my stay in Unity is fruitful) Got more opportunities than what I deserve, getting awesome teachers (specific ones though) and getting a chance to move towards my passion.

Well ok, before bragging and going on and on about 4 years of my Secondary school life which most of you are most probably uninterested to know, let's walk along some memory lane! :)

January 2011
Nothing much happened in January. Not much changes and not much to adapt to as well since all our teachers remained the same.

2 January 2011:
A simple 2709 class gathering before the school semester starts. As usual, we talk cock sing song and had fun trying to fly a kite in a windless night (Janice ran at least 5 rounds around the empty beach trying to get the kite flying).

Appreciate this bunch of supportive guys a lot throughout these 4 years! Although we are all in different classes now, I'm still super glad that many of them are still go steady and on about class gatherings and sometimes, pester me to organise one until I can literally go crazy. Heh. They really keep me so committed and motivated to serve this class even though we have all graduated from this class 2 years ago. These guys are really important elements of my secondary school life!17082709, spirit never die.





7 January 2011:
CCA Open House! Last performance that I participated in before stepping down. From audience's comments, I heard that we did really well! All those countless holiday trainings under Mr Sun was totally worth it :)



February 2011
School work started to get intense, I guess? I miss school .... Waking up at 6am in the morning, wearing my uniform, carrying my heavy bag and falling asleep in class especially during Humanities. Hehehe.

February/ March was a period where all the pure science students are fretting and stressing over School Practical Assessment (SPA). Naturally the number of practical sessions increased and we, the bio students, had fun every practical session trying to pour chemicals or cut flowers/ plants or dissect the gross and disgusting goat's heart.




19 February 2011:
A random 4711 clique (Plus some guys: Andrew, Weikang, Daren and Hakim) barbeque session at Pamela's house. Had fun with the girls and the guys, especially the part where I helped in setting up the fire and playing with Pamela's kinect. Woohoo~ Love times like this. Not just the activity, but the great company of the people. We celebrated Lynnquek's sweet 16 as well! (Alongside with Pamela's relative).





22 Febuary 2011:
Had a steamboat session with some 2709ians at Kernhon's house, together with some of his relatives. Gambled and had a fun catch up session with everyone that was present! :)







March 2011
School life gets more intense as everyone was trying to rush to get more CIP hours. For our class, we paid visits to this kindergarten and have fun with the kids over there! I don't really like kids so I wasn't anticipating CIP very much while it was being planned; but the cute kids there changed my perception about them and they made me so excited to go back for CIP every wednesday or friday!



15 March 2011:
Last trip to NPCC Campsite @ Pulau Ubin during High Ropes Course. Would really miss that place a lot although I went there only pathetically 3 times. I don't know why would I miss it too... Perhaps I just don't want my NPCC life, my Secondary school life to end just like that.
Anyway, I was the only girl in my squad which attended High Ropes Course. But with the fun Haikal, Wenwei and Afiq, my stay at Pulau Ubin on that day was really awesome.
I remember myself screaming on my first obstacle course. The first two part of the obstacle was still ok, but the third part was horrifying. Basically, I had to skate on a skateboard on 2 thick ropes. Being an idiot who doesn't even know who to skate on ground, I kept on grasping on my own safety rope which apparently made myself lose balance even more. But I just didn't want to let go of it. Hehehe, had a really awesome day under the sun and walking on the wet grass.





19 March 2011:
An outing to Sentosa with 4711 Clique and some of the guys. Awesome day under the sun with really great companies even though I was knocked down by Hakim in a game of Captain's ball.
After a day at the beach, we headed over to Pearlyn's house to attend her sister's birthday party. Ate and played around. Some of the girls tied braids and we walked around having the same hair pattern. Hehhehheh.







April 2011

Nothing much happened in the month of April. I think we were all busy .S.T.U.D.Y.I.N.G. Yay~

May 2011

7 May 2011:
On this fateful day we celebrated Pamela the alien's happy sweet 16th. (Her brithday's on the 8th, but it clashed with the weekends so we made it advanced) However, she is down with some dizzy spells illness so she was absent for school on that day.
The rest (8 of us) made a super funny and touching video for her during her absence and Liyee Chia did all the editing and stuffs. Had a super hilarious time trying to get the video up hahaha, for example: Using our ponytails as Liyee Chia (Acting as Lulu in the video)'s armpit hair. Lol.
On the day of celebration, our initial plan was to get Pamela to get out of her house so that some of us are able to intrude into her room to get all the surprises up. We cooked up the excuse of "Eh, a lot of math worksheets and homework and test papers, please come to the bus stop outside Verde to take it from Jingyi." Yet, thanks to her spells, she was super reluctant to come out of her crib and kept on rejecting meeting us. It was super hard to try to intrude to her house, seriously. Hahaha.
Then, our temperamental (? ok is there such words? Hahaha) Aries woman, Jingyi, began to flare up because our plans were not working at all and she began to "scold" Pamela via messages and calls. And at last, Pamela finally wanted to roll out of her crib to meet Jingyi (Accompanied by Me and ... Jovita? Haha I forgot.) to get the heap of papers. The rest of the clique members walked the long way to get to her house with the help of Pamela's maid and intruded into her room and started to create chaos in there.)
As Pamela came to the bus stop, totally oblivious that her room was being attacked by a bunch of ding dongs, the bus stop gang (Jingyi, Jovita and I) hinted to go to her house. Thank God she agreed instantly. We walked to her house and tried to bring Pamela up to her room but yet again, she was super reluctant. (Candles were burning on cake by the way) In the end, I decided not to entertain her anymore and entered her room to join the rest. Then Pamela finally climbed up to her room, shouting, "Oi, what you doing inside my room with the doors closed?!"
1...2...3 and BAM, surprise! Hahaha, had a really enjoyable time at Pamela's house that day, again, with great company :)

Jingyi went over to her house and handed her a disc which contained the video that we all acted together on the 8th. :)

31 May 2011:
Another 2709 BBQ gathering right after our Olevel Mother Tongue Papers. As usual, gathered and catch up with each other, have fun and everything. Really appreciate times of meet up like these :)







June 2011

3 June 2011:
Jovita's sweet 17th's on the 4th. The rest of the girls gathered at Pamela's house to get Jovita's handmade rainbow cake and birthday card done.
This preparation and baking session was a super expensive one because Pamela's oven glass plate broke while we were baking. This sort of dampened everyone's mood but at least the cake turned out well! Weehuhu~






4 June 2011:
We celebrated Jovita's sweet 17th at Marina Barrage. It was a potluck event so everyone bought their own food and it turns out that the food was so much that it cannot be completed.
We had fun flying kites and taking photos and blowing bubbles and talking non-stop under the super hot Sun. All of us were melting so we decided to leave at 4 plus. Upon reaching Choa Chu Kang, 6 of us decided to visit Qian Hu and experience the killer fish spa. For Jingyi, Pamela and I, it was our first time and to us, this first experience was pretty horrifying. We were practically screaming (especially Jingyi and I) due to the unbearable itch produced when the fishes bite. Hahaha~ Epic times hehe. But it got better after awhile :)





















22 June 2011:
It's our Weiyi's sweet 16th! We went to Pizza Hut to celebrate her sweet 16th birthday, with Elmo balloon and a sunflower hehe. Headed to Kbox with Jingyi, Jovita, Liyee and Pamela after that! :)





July 2011
This was probably the worst month of 2011. The month where I was being scarred and hurt and the period where I really experienced what true pain really felt like. Don't really feel like expressing everything here, but yeah, now, I've moved on. Other than God, I'm not gonna depend on anyone anytime soon. Because being emotionally attached to someone can really kill you inside out.

I don't know when was this but 4711 clique had an ice-skating outing somewhere around July, after our Mid Year Examinations. (I think it's in July) Had a really fun time watching how our people fell and landed on their butt.
After that, some of us went over to Pamela's house to watch a few movies. Jingyi and I were the silent killers for the day....... Haha! Everyone had a tummyache after eating KFC in the afternoon.

22 July 2011:
2709 Clique celebrated Janice and Chuxuan's birthday at Kbox, after Sports Fiesta. It was Janice's super belated (her birthday is on 2nd July) and Chuxuan's advanced birthday (her birthday is on the 24th).
We 4 (Chiahsuan, Lynn, Shiheng and I) prepared the cake outside while the passionate-about-singing-duo were singing inside the room. As we walked in with the cake and two big cards, we expected them to stop singing and look surprised. Instead, they continue to sing their songs as we walked in and sing birthday songs for them. What nice friends huh hahaha!
We, sadly, didn't bring any camera so they wasn't any group photo taken. :( Yet, we really had a great time together! :)

1 September 2011:
It was Teachers' Day Celebration and Aces Day. Had fun with 4711 cheating in the Aces Day games haha. Teachers' Day Celebration was awesome and I'm gonna miss my teachers so much. :(

2709 gathering at Amelia's house for her Hari Raya Open House! Experienced Malay food and I really can't get used to their style and taste. But I really had a great time with everyone!





10 September 2011:
Mini gathering with Clare, Wenwei, Haikal, Afiq, Shireen and some of Clare's friends to have a lantern party haha. Had fun catching up with those that I haven't met for very long, had fun burning all the things that we could find to start a fire, and had fun trying to hide alcohol from patrolling police cars, lol!



17 September 2011:
This was the day where I accepted Christ into my life. At first I was pretty uncertain and unstable in my walk with Him, and I admit that when I decided to convert, it was only a play thing to me. Given all the hurts and heartbreaks I've experienced, I took everything as a joke and I just accepted and said I would accept Christ and walk with Him for the fun of it.

But as time pass and as I prayed, I really grew more optimistic and now, I wouldn't let my emotions control me THAT much (Emotions do overwhelm me at times even now, but not as much). I didn't regret making this decision, really. There are parental objections and etc (Now, they are still oblivious to the fact that I am a Christian), but I believe that God will make a way for me and use me to save the lost souls around me. :)

30 September 2011:
Graduation Ceremony (Class Of 2011). Felt so emotional on that day somehow. It seems like my first day of school was just yesterday and I can still remember my first day of school, those days where 2709 really created havoc in the class, those days where we studied until we practically go crazy (especially during Math lessons) so vividly. It seems so weird that all of these are ending soon and would never come back again. I really miss my secondary school life, I miss school and miss going crazy with my girls. :( I miss the past 4 years.. and the fact that I'm leaving the school to another strange institution makes me feel so miserable.
Whatever it is, 4 years have come to an end and that's that. My 4 years had been fruitful with ups and downs in it and I've never regretted entering this school even though my first thought when I just entered secondary school was: "So I'm gonna be in the same class as all of them for 2 years?!"
I've made it through, we've made it through. :') With or without regrets, at least we knew we gave in our best, in one way or another.








October 2011:
7 October 2011:
Official last day of school. Graduation Ceremony was conducted one week earlier for other batch because of the Nlevel students. Had lunch with Angeline, Chiahsuan, Shiheng and Lynn Chew after school. :)

Olevel started on 24 October and ended on 15 November (for me). I think I didn't do really well for it and I got to admit that I'm rather disappointed in myself. :( My strive to study totally died down even before Os started and I relied on my past knowledge, especially for my Humanities (where I only spent one night for both Social Studies and Geography). What's worse is that Humanities is compulsory for both my L1R4 and L1R5. :( English was a killer for me, and I am really afraid of failing it. Failing English = Failing the entire O levels.
Really hoping and praying for the best and really hoping to meet my desired grades and results. :(

November 2011 & December 2011:
I started to worked as a Waitress at Sushi Tei (West Coast Outlet) after my major papers are down. In one way or another, I do enjoy working at Sushi Tei, especially with awesome and funny managers and colleagues!
Sometimes, I was being pushed to Big Splash Sushi Tei to work. To be honest, I prefer Big Splash over West Coast outlet because the people there are somehow friendlier and more fun-loving and the managers there are awesome, like West Coast's.

16 November 2011 - 18 November 2011:
4711 Clique Chalet! This is the chalet where I spent most of my time sleeping thanks to the examinations. Hehehe, nevertheless, I really had fun with my girls and everything! :) Grateful for this chance to really gather and have fun together. Love my SNSD :)
On the second night, some of the other classmates came for the BBQ session. Some of the guys stayed overnight as well.
After chalet, the super-tired us (girls) went to town for some prom shopping hehe.



22 November 2011:
It was Prom! Had a really great time and on that night, time really ZAP past.
Before the night of our lives (Lol), some of us went to Reitian's house to get our makeup and everything done. Reitian's sister helped us in our makeup and she really did an awesome job yo! :)
I really enjoyed prom and that was probably one of the once enjoyable and memorable night of my life. I miss prom!





23 November 2011:
Velocity A outing to Sentosa! Had a fun time playing games with my brothers and sisters! ^^

After which, I went back to Unity to attend Student Leadership Camp 2011's Gala Night. Miss Chua Shi Qian came back to visit us and it was sort of a reunion for us. :) I really miss Ms Chua a lot after she left for MOE Headquarters 1 year plus ago. (I think). Really thankful towards her for polishing Guoyao, Shireen and I (and some others) into who we are and where we are today. :) Thank Ms Chua! You once said that you read my blog, and I truly hope that you are still stalking my blog so that you can understand my gratitude towards you which I would NEVER have the courage to express it right in front of you hehe.
